A place of work is far more than property. It is a living environment that helps individuals and businesses craft and experience a better fusion of life and work.
Currently, offices are moving from being practical to putting people at their heart. The human experience, that creates the best value for the employees, is the new benchmark for success.
SSP’s partner in service delivery, JLL has carried out a unique global research project, involving 7,364 employees across 12 countries, with the main purpose of:
- decoding the workplace experience,
- understanding its specific impact on business performance, and
- working out how experiences can be shaped by real estate to achieve strategic performance objectives.
Based on the research findings, Dr. Marie Puybaraud, Global Head of Research, JLL Corporate Solutions, has produced the Workplace powered by the Human Experience report.
Human Experience Model
In this report, Dr. Puybaraud presents the Human Experience Model, which has been developed from the outcomes of this extensive research project. The model can help organisations shape optimal user experiences to create value for their employees, customers, colleagues, visitors, stakeholders, and the brand.
This model consists of Engagement, Empowerment and Fulfilment.
Engagement comes first and includes introducing innovative workplaces to attract and retain employees, improve effectiveness, and formalise human experience in the organisational structure.
Empowerment of the employees (based on trust, kindness and initiatives-taking) will drive change and agility to improve the quality of life through the provision of space for concentration and regeneration.
Fulfilment is the new happiness and it is the number one priority for a positive workplace experience. Some ideas to achieve happiness could be to include spaces dedicated to health and well-being, as well as and improved managerial approaches linked to recognition and personal development.
Key takeaways
