As Galkangu – Bendigo GovHub celebrates its first anniversary, we take this opportunity to reflect on its achievements and the significant contributions made by Accommodation, Carpool, and Library Services (ACLS), which manages the building, including its security, facilities maintenance, and concierge services.
Home to various State Government departments and the City of Greater Bendigo, Galkangu has transformed how regional Victorians access State and Local Government services. More than 2,000 people utilize the building weekly for work, business activities and events, benefiting from its state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative environment.
Anniversary celebration
A memorable highlight of the first-year anniversary celebration was the celebration with staff from the City of Greater Bendigo and a range of Victorian Government departments.
Andrew Cooney, City of Greater Bendigo CEO, praised Galkangu’s impact, acknowledging the challenges of providing comprehensive government services in regional areas. He highlighted the benefits of co-locating various departments, which has improved communication and collaboration.
Leanne Rosewall, Regional Director RDV – Loddon Mallee, recognised the importance of creating a hub for regional services which supports all levels of government to collaborate. She noted that the friendly and helpful staff made navigating the various departments easy and enhanced the overall experience for visitors.
